Worth the money, but would still buy the magazine.

I tried a free subscription to Cook’s Illustrated web site. I gave them a fake e-mail address through dodgeit.com. They also required credit card information so they could charge you after 14 days. I also gave them fake credit card information (Probably a violation of their TOS). Within minutes of a confirmation through the dodgeit mail I was looking through all their pages.
It was pretty impressive. It appeared that all the content that is within the magazines is there, it was just spread out more. For now, I like the magazine more. The magazine is much more cohesive. Regardless, the site is a very handy resource. You can search every article they have ever written. Sounds like a great place to go if you are in a pinch for a recipe you can’t find.
I’m still debating on whether I would join or not. If I did I would probably still buy the annual hardbound magazine packages. I just can’t resist the printed word!
Incidentally, I also registered the login information with BugMeNot so others can take a peek. The account will expire after 14 days.
