A friend of mine recently bought a product called the MagicJack. On the makers tout better reception than Vonage, with a small USB plug in device. Plug the MagicJack into a USB port, insert a land line telephone plug, and Bam, you’re ready to roll. The product is $20 and the service is $20 per year, which includes a phone number for incoming calls, voicemail and unlimited local and long distance calls….
After speaking with my friend on the phone for over half an hour while he was using the device, I’d say the major phone companies have something to worry about…
