Fall Party and Visit with the Denault Family
Joe and I went to a Fall party this past Saturday night (October 1st) at David and Judy Denault’s house. Joe grew up with their son Eric, although he couldn’t make it that night due to food poisoning of some sort. Eric’s older brother, Adam, and his wife Tanya were there however. This was the first time Joe and I had seen the Denault’s new home, even though they moved nearly five years ago. We were glad to see David and Judy. Although we’ve talked to them off and on, we haven’t seen them since we got married. Because Judy was a personal friend of Joe’s mom, Joyce, she stood in for her at our wedding. Adam used to be friends with Joe’s older brother before he died. Both Adam and Tanya seemed nice to me and I hope we get to hang out with them again sometime soon. Really, they are all very kind people.
The party itself lasted from 5 pm until about 11 pm. There were lots of goodies to snack on. Some of our favorites were: cheese dip that Adam and Tanya made, meatballs, cheesy artichoke dip, and After Eight mints that an English woman named Anita brought with her from home. They also had some fairly good smelling apple cider, but unfortunately Joe and I forgot to taste it. We did, however, roast some marshmellows on the fire outside. They were quite good!
