Mom’s Surprise Party

Yesterday Joe, Jeff, and I with our family threw my mom a surprise birthday party. She was completely shocked, even to the point of tears… Needless to say, it was a great success. Grandaddy (Bud), Gommie (Anne), Shery, Pete, Wendy, Krista, Jeff, Joe, and I and later Jason (Krista’s boyfriend) were all there. Joe made bar-b-q shrimp and beer can chicken. Krista made a cheesy potatoe casserole. I made a brown-eyed susan birthday cake. Joe and I both prepared some stuffed cherry tomatoes as an appetizer. Shery made some kick-butt dirty rice and also a fennel based cole slaw. The party started at 6:45 pm and ended around 10 or 11 pm. Everyone seemed to have a great time and to be glad my mom was happy. Here are a few pics from the party:

Note: We regret that we missed Stephen Hunter’s ordination tonight at 7:00pm. Stephen has been attending seminary for many years now and has now been ordained a priest in the Charismatic Episcopal Church.
