Online journal
Hello! This is the very first entry for the journal page. If you have read the “About Us” page, you already know we have a busy schedule. As of right now, we have about 7 hours of homework to do. So, I’ll have to make this brief. The past few weeks, and months for that matter, have been very interesting. Joe and I transfered from Floyd College (based in Rome,GA) to Kennesaw State University (a much bigger school) this month, and over the past couple of months have been preparing for the loss of our beloved pastor (Dr. Lewis Gregory). No, no…he didn’t die or anything, he was lead by God to pursue the enlargement of Source Ministries (a non-profit Christian organization lead by he and his lovely wife, Lue). Needless to say, we are going to miss them. Lewis’ last day as our “pastor” was last Sunday. Because our church is non-denominational, finding a pastor inspired by God to lead our church isn’t as easy as, say, in a Baptist church. You know…church hierarchy and support systems and all. We have only Christ’s support through His word, Spirit, and children during this time of change.
Other than those two concerns, there’s also work. One must work in order to build up that store of time exchange we otherwise call money. Fortunately, we get to work at our church! Joe also works as substitute for Cherokee County as much as he can. I actually have to go to the substitute workshop this Tuesday to get certified. From what I understand, substitute teaching is a wonderful job for the student if one has the temperment for it. I hope I have the right temperment. I know it may seem as if I’m a little stressed out. If that is your assumption, you are correct. I am. However, my source is an everlasting one (i.e. Christ) and I’m very content to sit back and enjoy this part of life’s adventure. It really doesn’t hurt to have a supportive husband either. Well, that’s it for now. I hope this gives a little starter insight into our lives. Until next time!
Yours truly,
Jessie
